'You are either with us or against us'

Yes, this is a quote by President Bush after 2001 attack on Twin Towers. It summarizes the anger and determination in americans. Though the quote was later ridiculed, it set the stage for "0" attacks on american soil for next seven years.
So, can Indian govt make this quote now? Can we ask each country in the world to make a choice? Can we ask all our citizens (including Kashmiris) to make this choice? Its either us or Bay of Bengal. What do you prefer?
In my previous post, I talked about international situation which helps terrorism. And I talked about an international solution. In this post, I am suggesting a local solution. For this we need to force every one to take sides, just as folks were forced to do in Mahabharat.
You may hate Mr S.S.Ray to killing innocents in Calcutta 1971 or Mr K.P.S.Gill for creating a police raj in Punjab to control secessionists. However, you have to agree that they succeeded in their aim. They forced people to take sides. You are either with State or you are with Naxals or Terrorists. Yes, lots of innocent lives were lost, but the point is the problem was totally weeded out.
So, we need to force all the fence sitters to make a choice. Are you with us in building a secular and strong India Or you are in hurry to go to hell. Once you do this. The so-called "local support" to terrorists will disappear. Suddenly your intelligence inputs will increase thousand fold. And terrorists will think hundred times before doing a reconnaissance in our cities.
Let all Indians make a united stand against terrorism and provide a route to hell to these god-loving terrorists.

9/11 and 26/11

The year was 2001. 11th September Morning around 6AM PDT. I turned on the TV to find out that one of the Twin Towers in NY has got hit. And then saw another plane crashing into the next tower. I was shocked. That day I kept thinking that its not right. Choosing civilian targets is not correct. Though I have grown up in Delhi during mid 80's when bomb threats were not unusual. I still was not able to comprehend such a major attack on civilian targets.
Fast forward to 27th November morning 2008. A shock awaited me when I opened the newspaper in a unusually cold Bangalore morning. It seems that some terrorists have sneaked into Mumbai and created havoc. It took Military officials more than two days to get the situation under control. I was shocked to learn that our forces were ill-prepared to deal with these situations. The casuality number is only 180+ as terrorists did not find time to kill more. It makes me angry that local security establishment was busy in playing politics rather than protecting people.
Anyway, that's a topic for next blog. Today, lets take a step back and see why fundamentalism is on rise. The case in the point is a country named "Indonesia". About two decades back, it was a Islamic country with a very tolerant society. Minorities were living peacefully. The country even celerated Hindu "Ramayana". But where is this country now? Tolerance is gone. The country inches towards fundamentalism each day. What happened?
In my view, the answer lies in "Petro-dollars". Yup, this is money earned by mid-east by selling petrol. And with world getting hungrier for more and more petrol, there is no doubt that these countries are minting money. And some of these dollars are ending up with elements who believe in "intolerant" brand of Islam. Thus you see a transformation of a tolerant diverse Islamic society to a fundamentalist society.
Somehow, policy-makers in Delhi continue to ignore this and focus their energy on Pakistan which is merely a by-product.
So, what's my solution to defeat these Jihadists? Develop alternative fuel and export it to the world. When that happens, petrol prices will crash and Jihadis will suddenly have no money to buy the bullets. The countries which supported terrorists covertly or overtly will implode and countries like Indoneasia and India will again go back to "Sufi" Islam.
My coutrymen, be patriotic, be Green.
